Satotukku was established in 1967 in Helsinki, Finland. Since the very beginning the company has been importing fruits and vegetables from different countries in Europe and overseas, such as Brazil, Argentina, South Africa etc.
Our customer base vary between the Finnish retail chains and big wholesale companies who supply the hotels and catering industry of the country, even to cover the different hamburger chains in Finland.
Satotukku is part of a Swedish based, family owned multi-industry company STC - Scandinavian trading company.
STC group consists of three individual fruit and vegetable importer/wholesalers in Sweden and Finland. Ewerman, Allfrukt i Stockholm and Satotukku.
In 2004 Satotukku acquired the leading organics importer and distributor in Finland, Luomuahola Oy. Regardless of incorporating Luomuahola into the mother company, Satotukku has kept the name LuomuAhola for marketing organic produce in Finland.
This way we are able to use the strong logistics systems of Satotukku, but we still have the established name and good reputation of Luomuahola in the organics side.
In order to better facilitate its strong annual growth and strengthen its position in the Scandinavian and Baltic market, Satotukku decided to open SatoIberica, a sourcing and sales office in Spain. SatoIberica started its activities in January 2005.
From SatoIberica we carry out sourcing for Satotukku and Luomuahola in Spain and from here we supply our wholesale customers in Scandinavia and the Baltic countries.
Our future will be built on the following aspects on which we base our day-to-day work:
- Developing more efficient logistics, with direct sourcing channels from the growers in the country of origin.
- Concentrating on developing special product groups, such as special lettuce, fresh cuts, herbs and especially organics.
- Building brands with strong, stable quality level throughout the season.
This is the Satotukku of today and hopefully the Satotukku of the future, as we believe that with our values and vision we can create a success story in our increasingly competitive market situation where only by being the driving force, you can survive.
